As a writer who knows a little about many things but not a lot about any one thing, I was heartened that Miss Snark says doctors and lawyers don’t have a leg up writing medical or legal thrillers.
In fact, it could hurt them:
Most of the queries I get from lawyers and doctors are crap. Worse than the usual dreck. That’s cause they’ve mostly been used to writing in a totally different form. The only people who write worse than those guys are academics and political pundits.
